A starry lineup of artists are on hand for this year's Dramatists Guild Foundation (DGF) Gala, being held October 28 at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. The evening will celebrate writers and their work, with direction by Noah Himmelstein and music direction by Julianne Merrill.
Performers will include Daniel Dae Kim (Yellow Face), Nikki Renée Daniels (Once Upon a Mattress, Company), Jeanna de Waal (Diana), Francis Jue (Yellow Face), and Jack Wolfe (Next to Normal).
The evening will also feature appearances from DGF Board President Andrew Lippa, David Henry Hwang (Yellow Face, M. Butterfly), Doug Wright (Quills, I Am My Own Wife), James Lapine (Into the Woods, Falsettos, Passion), and Stephen Schwartz; as well as a performance from We Live in Cairo, written by past DGF Fellows Daniel and Patrick Lazour. Additional performances will be announced in the coming weeks.
The gala will honor Tony, Emmy, Grammy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer, orchestrator, and arranger Tom Kitt; and producer Mindy Rich, who serves as chairman at Rich Holdings Inc., executive chair at Rich Entertainment Group, and
producing partner at Grove Entertainment. Tony and Emmy nominee Amber Ruffin (Some Like It Hot, The Wiz) will host the event.
This year’s Gala Committee includes producers Nolan Doran, Lawryn LaCroix, Rob Laqui, Lucas
