ArtsEmerson and American Repertory Theater will present the world premiere of Claudia Rankine's The White Card beginning February 24.
Directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus (Pippin), performances are scheduled through April 1 at the Emerson Paramount Center’s Robert J. Orchard Stage, located at 559 Washington Street in downtown Boston.
The cast includes Karen Pittman (Good People and Passing Strange) as Charlotte, Daniel Gerroll (Enchanted April and Shadowlands) as Charles, Patricia Kalember (Don’t Dress for Dinner and TV's Sisters) as Virginia, Jim Poulos (The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Rent)as Eric, and John Kroft (Amazon Studios’ Red Oaks) as Alex.
In The White Card, a conversation at a dinner party thrown by Virginia and Charles, an influential Manhattan couple, for up-and-coming artist Charlotte raises questions about what—and who—is actually on display.
The production will also have dramaturgy by Ford Foundation Art of Change Fellow P. Carl, scenic design by Riccardo Hernandez, costume design by ESosa, lighting design by Stephen Strawbridge, sound design by Will Pickens, and projection design by Peter Nigrini.
Tickets are available now online at artsemerson.org, by phone at 617-824-8400, and in person at the Emerson Paramount Center Box Office, 559 Washington Street, Boston.
