PBS' Civil War-set drama series Mercy Street has hired some high-caliber Broadway talent for its second season, according to Deadline.com.
Two-time Tony Award winner Brían F. O'Byrne, Tony winner Patina Miller and Tony nominee Bryce Pinkham have been added to the cast.
O’Bryrne (Doubt) will play Allan Pinkerton, head of the Union Intelligence Service. Miller (Pippin) will play Charlotte Jenkins, a former slave who escaped to freedom in the North. Pinkham (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder) will play Maj. Clayton McBurney III, boss of the Union Army hospital in occupied Virginia, where the show is set.
The series debuted in January. The six-episode second season will debut at a date TBA in 2017.
