Netflix's The Pain Hustlers is sure to cure any weekday woes! Brian d'Arcy James will join the cast of the upcoming drama, led by Emily Blunt and Chris Evans—who starred in the 2018 Broadway revival of Lobby Hero.

The upcoming movie follows a struggling mom as she becomes wrapped up in a dangerous racketeering scheme at a failing pharmaceutical start-up. Catherine O’Hara (Schitt's Creek) also stars, along with Andy Garcia (Father of the Bride), Jay Duplass (Industry), and Chloe Coleman (Marry Me).

David Yates directs and co-produces a script by Wells Tower with producer Lawrence Grey.

Three-time Tony nominee James is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Into the Woods, alongside Sara Bareilles and Patina Miller. With a stage career dating back to 1993, recent Broadway credits include Hamilton, Something Rotten!, and Shrek the Musical (a filmed live version streams on Netflix). The Pain Hustlers isn't James' first venture into the television and movies sphere. The performer recently starred in the Disney+ Marvel series Hawkeye, as well as the 2021 Steven Spielberg adaptation of West Side Story, after having held recurring roles in the NBC musical comedy Smash and the Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why.

Today, Netflix announced theater and streaming release dates for Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, adapted from the 2013 Tony-nominated West End and Broadway musical by Dennis Kelly and Tim Minchin, and the Dahl book. The movie will see a limited theatrical release beginning December 9, with a streaming release set for December 25, following the film's October 5 premiere at BFI London Film Festival and U.K. theatrical release December 2.
