Rodgers and husband Henry Guettel lived at the Beresford, where they were frequently hosts to gatherings of Broadway artists, featuring guests like Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, Julie Andrews, Itzhak Perlman and Bernadette Peters as well as Diana Ross and Lang Lang.
Rodgers received Tony nominations for the music for Working and Once Upon a Mattress. She also contributed music to From A to Z, Hot Spot, Side by Side by Sondheim and The Madwoman of Central Park West.
Rodgers and Guettel's son, Adam Guettel, is a two-time Tony Award winner for the score and orchestrations of The Light in the Piazza. He also received Drama Desk nominations for the music and lyrics of Floyd Collins.
