After playing original Temptations member Melvin Franklin in the Broadway jukebox musicals Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations and Motown, Jawan M. Jackson has joined the actual Temptations, replacing bass vocalist Willie Green. Jackson will make his debut with the group alongside Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, and Anthony Grant June 8 as the group plays Edmonds Center for the Arts in Edmonds, Washington.

First reported in Detroit Free Press, Jackson confirmed and celebrated the news with an Instagram post, writing, "You couldn’t have told me this would EVER happen! Wow."

Jackson first portrayed Franklin onstage in the original Broadway company of Motown The Musical in 2013, also playing a member of the Miracles and the Commodores. He returned to the role for the Temptations jukebox biomusical Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations, remaining with the show from its 2019 opening through its closing performance earlier this year.

The Temptations have upcoming tour stops planned in Washington, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Florida, Utah, California, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Georgia, after which the group will embark on a European tour. For a full itinerary, visit TemptationsOfficial.com.
