Stafford Arima directs the world premiere of Allegiance—A New American Musical, a history-inspired story which charts the lives of some of the 120,000 Japanese Americans who were placed into U.S. concentration camps during World War II. The Jay Kuo (composer-lyricist, co-librettist), Marc Acito and Lorenzo Thione (co-librettists) musical features Tony winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), Telly Leung (Glee, Godspell), and Star Trek veteran George Takei (in dual roles). Performances run through October 21 at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre.
