Singers for Tuacahn Center for the Arts' 2025 Summer Season (See breakdown).
Shows will run in repertory. Tuacahn is seeking actors to perform in all three shows.
Tuacahn Center for the Performing Arts encourages and actively seeks actors of all Ethnicities and Nationalities and Gender Identities in their summer season.

SEEKING:
ARIEL: Female Identifying (20s), Crystal clear flawless belt to E.; A strong willed, independent young woman. She loves her father but has never felt as if she quite fits in to her world under the sea. She is a dreamer with an adventurous spirit who will do anything for her love. Moves well and comfortable with heights and flying.
ERIC: Male Identifying (20s) Able to sing in a very controlled lyrical tenor or baritenor. Gorgeous soaring sound to A; A charming prince who doesn’t want to settle and accept the life that he is destined to live. He feels most alive on the sea and yearns for a life of adventure. He doesn’t want to settle for any girl.
TRITON: Male Identifying (30s-40s) booming baritone to strong E; The Son of Poseidon, King of the Undersea World, with a profound belief that the Human World is dangerous and must protect his daughters from it. A powerful, uncompromising monarch, who has been deeply wounded by losing his wife, the mother of his 7 daughters. Commanding, regal, charismatic, protective because he is afraid of losing what he loves.
URSULA: Female Identifying (30s-40s) Strong singer who dances. Dramatic alto down to E. Big Belt to C# with strong head voice to a G; A Sea Witch and Triton’s estranged sister, banished forever for dabbling in The Black Arts. Personality as huge as her ambition. Wildly smart, sinister, sarcastic, sultry and dangerous. Desperate to overthrow her brother and reclaim the undersea realm once and for all.
GRIMSBY: Male Identifying (40s) Light character vocals only, patter a la Gilbert and Sullivan; Prince Eric’s British guardian. Long-suffering, no-nonsense and big-hearted. More a companion and confidant with a father like love for Prince Eric. Occasionally exasperated by, but entirely devoted to the Prince.
SEBASTIAN: Male Identifying (20s-40s) A showman with a dry sense of comedy and a strong singer/dancer. A character calypso sound. Baritone to E; A charming, pleasing Caribbean Crab. The court composer and advisor to King Triton. Becomes the reluctant guardian of Ariel with a loving devotion to the King and his daughter.
SCUTTLE: Male Identifying (20s-40s) A song and dance man with strong tap skills. Very strong character tenor or baritenor with a solid high A; A seagull. Fancies himself nature’s Einstein and expert on humans and their peculiar stuff. Full of confidence. Ariel depends on him for the bird’s-eye view of the world and life. Comfortable with heights and flying.
FLOUNDER: Male Identifying (10-16) Tenor or unchanged voice; A boy fish who can sing and move well. A fish on the verge of puberty who has a huge crush on Ariel. He is her faithful, enthusiastic, young friend.
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM: Male Identifying (20s) Light tenor to B with falsetto to a high D; Strong dancers. Two slimy, sneaky, and seductive eels; they are high voltage low life’s who are Ursula’s lackeys and partners in crime.
CHEF LOUIS: Male Identifying (30s-40s) A character baritone; A human, French Chef extraordinaire, a culinary perfectionist with a particular affinity for dishes with fishes. Movement skills a plus as he will also double as numerous characters throughout the show. French accent. Vocal range: Bb2 to A4; Sings Les Poissons.
ENSEMBLE DANCER/SINGERS: 20s-40s. All identities and physical types who are both EXCELLENT singers and EXCELLENT dancers in both contemporary MT style and TAP. Ensemble members play various featured roles in all shows as well as cover Principals.

DOROTHY GALE: Female Identifying, Ingenue. 18+. Young, innocent, sweet, but very determined and stronger than she realizes. Solid vocals with a comfortable G to B flat range.
AUNT EM/GLINDA: Female Identifying, late 40s-50s. Aunt Em: Hard-scrabble, no-nonsense farm woman with a big heart. Glinda: The epitome of the mature heroine from which goodness flows unceasingly. Strong legit vocals with a range from A to D.
UNCLE HENRY/GUARD: Male Identifying, late 40s-60s. Henry: Hard working, hard-pressed Kansas farmer. Guard: The essentially sentimental, but very harried keeper of the gate to his beloved Emerald City. Primarily ensemble singing.
PROFESSOR MARVEL/OZ: Male Identifying, 60s. Marvel: Slightly befuddled, but very warm and friendly ‘snake oil salesman’ type. The Great Oz: Befuddled ‘absent minded professor’ type with a loving heart. Ensemble singing.
ALMIRA/WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: Female Identifying, 40s-50s. Almira: Severe spinster with a knack for making enemies. Wicked Witch of the West: The quintessential witch-complete with cackle, broomstick, and a wicked sense of humor. She loves being bad and is good at it. Ensemble singing.
ZEKE/COWARDLY LION: Male Identifying, 20s-30s. Zeke: Friendly farmhand, always a bit nervous and occasionally the brunt of a few jokes. Lion: ‘King of the Forest’ trying hard to be ferocious when he’s scared of his own shadow. Strong singer/dancer. Baritone.
HICKORY/TIN MAN: Male Identifying, 20s-30s. Hickory: Practical joke loving farmhand. Tin Man: Slightly sad and sentimental young man hopelessly in love with a girl. Strong singer/dancer. Bari/tenor.
HUNK/SCARECROW: Male Identifying, 20s-30s. Excellent dancer. Hunk: Happy farm hand that fancies himself a great thinker. Scarecrow: Dorothy’s floppy, fun-loving, loyal friend and protector. Strong bari/tenor.

JACK KELLY: Male Identifying, 18-25. Handsome, passionate and charismatic leader of the Newsies. A street-smart kid with a dark artistic soul right beneath the bluster. Not a blowhard. This kid’s the real thing. Has a great pop tenor voice. Vocal Range: B to A-flat.
KATHERINE PLUMBER: Female Identifying, 18-25. The strong-willed daughter of Pulitzer. This young lady drips intelligence, opinions and confidence. A young Katherine Hepburn or Ellen Page. This damsel needs no prince to save her. Has a great pop/contemporary musical theater voice with a high belt. Vocal Range: A to E
CRUTCHIE: Male Identifying, 18-25. A slight, sickly boy with a huge heart. He walks with the aid of a crutch due to a bad leg, but that doesn’t hold him back from being right in the middle of any mischief. A real charmer. Vocal Range: A to B-flat
JOSEPH PULITZER: Male Identifying, 40s. The boisterous forefather of Wm. F. Buckley Jr, Glenn Beck and Rupert Murdoch. An on point, know it all, politician, impolite and impatient with the world. Sings well. Vocal Range: C to F-sharp
MEDDA: Female Identifying, 40s–60s. She is a vaudeville star of the Bowery variety. Risqué, tough, with a big voice and GREAT comic delivery. Vocal Range: F to E
DAVEY: Male Identifying, 18-25. A thinker. Raised in a home as opposed to the other Newsies, Davie is the book-smart counterpoint to the other boys, the voice of reason and a nice Jewish boy. Has a great contemporary tenor voice. Vocal Range: D to A
LES: Male Identifying, 10-12. The fearless kid brother of Davey. Excited by everything the world has to offer and eager to join in the adventure. Fun is this kid’s middle name. Excellent singer. Vocal Range: D to C-sharp
