BREAKDOWN

SCHOOL OF ROCK

SEEKING (YOUTH ROLES): Characters are all 10-13 years old.

Zack Mooneyham – Electric Guitar – Vocal range A3-D5 (Pop/Rock) Zach is the band’s lead guitarist and also a talented songwriter. He desperately wants to impress his father who’s usually too busy with work to take an interest. Able to move well and seriously rock some guitar solos.

Lawrence – Keyboard – Vocal range A3-D#5 (Pop/Rock) Awkward and lacking confidence, Lawrence is hesitant to attempt something “cool” like joining a band, but he soon turns out to be a fantastic keyboardist. Good mover with excellent piano skills.

Katie – Electric Bass – Vocal range A3-D#5 (Pop/Rock) Quiet and serious. Katie plays the cello, but switches to bass to fill out the band. Able to be energetic with a lot of rhythm and attitude. Moves well.

Freddy Hamilton – Drums – Vocal range A3-D5 (Pop/Rock) Freddy loves a bit of rowdiness and noise, making him a great drummer. His working-class father doesn’t see his ability and belittles his son. Exceptional drum skills and outgoing personality.

Summer Hathaway – Vocal range A3-D5 (Pop/Rock) Confident and outspoken, highly intelligent with a demanding presence. Summer is the ideal manager for the band. Ambitious and clever with high expectations.

Tomika – Vocal range A3-G5 (Pop/Rock) New girl struggling to fit in. She conquers her shyness to reveal her phenomenal singing ability and becomes the lead singer of the band. Very strong singer.

Marcy & Shonelle – Vocal range A3-G5 (Pop/Rock) Quiet girls with angelic voices. Backup singers and dancers in the band. Great movers.

Mason – Vocal range A3-D5 (Pop/Rock) A whiz with technology, becomes the lighting designer for the band.

Billy – Vocal range A3-D5 (Pop/Rock) Flamboyant and artistic, with an interest in fashion. Designs the band’s costumes.
