Rehearsals will take place on weekends from mid-January to the end of April (exact dates and times TBD), in Rockland County, NY, about 45 minutes outside of NYC. Rehearsals for ages 7 - 11 take place Fridays 4:30pm - 7:00pm. Rehearsals for ages 7 - 14 take place Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm. Rehearsals for ages 12 - 17 take place Sundays 12:00pm - 5:00pm. ABOUT THE HELEN HAYES YOUTH THEATRE: For over 25 years, the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre has committed itself to providing a safe space where young performers can be themselves, and learn the craft of theater in a creative, safe, and supportive environment. Although we take great pride in the quality of our productions, it is the process that our students undergo; the learning, the community building, and the fun they have, that gives us the deepest satisfaction, and that has made the Helen Hayes Youth Theatre one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions of theatre education in America.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working closely with our producer, designers, management and technical team, fellow creatives, and most importantly, our student performers, to launch a full-length musical from start to finish. Weekly rehearsals will begin January 2025, and performances will take place in April 2025
- Holding auditions and casting production
-Working with various designers and producer to ensure that production elements fulfill creative vision and costs do not exceed the allotted budget
-Run tech week (with the help of the stage manager and producer)
-Establish a fun, positive, and nurturing learning environment where student performers feel safe, supported, and artistically engaged
REQUIREMENTS:
-3+ years of directing/choreographing experience (can include academic experience)
-3+ years of working with children
-Experience within the realm of educational theater is a major plus, but not required.
-The ability to travel to Rockland County, NY (about 45 minutes outside of NYC and accessible by public transit).
