Job Hours: Full Time (Varies based off rehearsal and performance schedules. Evenings and weekends are regularly required).

Job Overview: The Associate Production Manager will aid the production department in the day-to-day coordination of all the physical elements and logistics for the New York City Center Mainstage. This position will help oversee crew during load-ins, performances, and load-outs. The Associate Production Manager is expected to demonstrate a passion for this work while supporting City Center’s mission and commitment to being an anti-racist organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Production on all internal productions.
  • Share in the supervision of crews for load in, load out, technical rehearsals, work calls and performances. As assigned, act as lead production representative onstage to oversee stagehands.
  • Serve as lead production representative on productions as assigned.
  • Supporting the Director in maintaining production budgets.
  • Research, place, track and distribute all orders for the production department.
  • Maintain purchase order database and code bills to appropriate budget lines.
  • Manage petty cash distribution and reconciliation.
  • Retain show files for current production and ensure accurate digital archiving of show materials.
  • Maintain internal Venue Management Software calendars for productions and for department.
  • Manage production meeting schedule for all internal productions. Prepare materials for production meetings. Run production meetings for lead productions and as assigned.
  • Production Manage City Center produced Studio Events including Studio 5 series.
  • Oversee mainstage wardrobe and costume departments for all productions including rental engagements.
  • Facilitate the flow of information between production, artistic and administrative staff.
  • Provide administrative support to all productions.
  • Assist in the logistics of gear rentals, permits and other items as needed.
  • Maintain a daily production log when overseeing stage operations.
  • Daily tasks and errands as needed within the production department.
  • Must obtain the following FDNY certification within 3 months of hire:
    • F03 Fireguard for Indoor Place of Public Assembly
  • Other duties as reasonably assigned.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3 years of technical experience in theater and/or dance.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
  • Proficient with Excel and Outlook.
  • Vectorworks knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with IATSE, USA, and AEA agreements a plus.
  • Previous experience in production management, stage management and/or arts administration.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Problem solving skills and collaborative approach to work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Provide administrative support to all productions.

As a valued member of the City Center administrative team, you will receive:

  • Exempt Salary between $64,350 and $68,000; final compensation will be informed by the candidates qualifiications and experience
