Regional News World Premiere of The Story Goes On: The Songs of Maltby and Shire Begins July 20

Weathervane Theatre presents the world premiere of the musical revue The Story Goes On: The Songs of Maltby and Shire—celebrating the work of Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire—July 20–27 in New Hampshire.

Featuring songs from the Broadway musicals Big and Baby as well as Waterfall, Take Flight, The Country Wife, and Sousatzka, plus the hit revues Closer Than Ever and Starting Here, Starting Now, the company features Becca Ayers (1776, My Fair Lady), Robert H. Fowler (The Producers, Beauty and the Beast), Julia Bogdanoff, Shinnerrie Jackson, Marisa Kirby, Ira Kramer, Ethan Paulini, Devyn Xavier Akers, Danielle Barrett, Lily Cameron, Ethan Davenport, Nicholas Deapo, Dan Follett, Carrie Greenberg, Elliana Karris, Grace L. Kramer, Jeremy Lloyd, Bebe Moss, Ana Lauren Rodriguez, Payton Thomas, and Lew Whitener.

Tony winner Maltby, Jr. directs and makes a special appearance in the production.

"The opportunity to collaborate with a literal legend, I am so thrilled that Richard will do what he does best and create a brand-new revue with our company and for our patrons,” said Weathervane Producing Artistic Director Paulini in an earlier statement. “Richard and David’s work is a rich and thrilling part of the musical theatre canon, and being able to bring this to our stage will be an undeniable moment in Weathervane’s story."

The revue also has choreography by Valerie C. Wright, music direction by Deniz Cordell, lighting design by Scout Hough, sound design by Alexander Pikiben, set and costume design by Rien Schlecht, and properties designed by Billy Smith and Claire Vogt. Annie Pasqua is the musical associate, and Pyper K Williams is the lead scenic artist.

Reed Davis and Egypt Dixon stage manage the production. Camden Dalie Keech is the technical director.
