News Who Would Hedwig Composer Stephen Trask Like to See Star in London Angry Inch? (Plus Video) Earlier this week, it was announced that international plans for Hedwig and the Angry Inch include the West End and Australia. Playbill.com's weekly poll, launched Aug. 19, reflected this news: "Who should star in @HedwigOnBway when it opens on the West End? Tweet us your picks!"

Stephen Trask, who composed the score to the Tony-winning production currently at the Belasco Theatre, posted a response on Twitter. The Obie winner tweeted, "I'd love to find the next @Alancumming to play Hedwig on the West End,@playbill @HedwigOnBway Let's make a new star."

 

Trask's partner, Michael Trask, added, "Dame Edna would be perfect in this role!"

Tony winner Cumming has performed songs from Hedwig and the Angry Inch in concert. Watch the video below:

The Tony-winning revival continues through Sept. 13 starring Taye Diggs in the role created on Broadway by Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris.

The musical about the internationally ignored rock star features a book by John Cameron Mitchell, who created the role Off-Broadway and also played a recent stint on Broadway.
