Directed by James Vasquez with choreography by Randy Slovacek and musical direction by Don LeMaster, the cast is led by Jacob Caltrider (Tony), Jessica Soza (Maria), Kikau Alvaro (Bernardo), Natalie Nucci (Anita) and Jeffrey Scott Parsons (Riff) with Danielle Airey, Kevin Aquino, Max Cadillac, Hanz Enyeart, Manny Fernandes, Meagan Flint, Jay Gamboa, Devon Hadsell, Siri Hafso, Danny Hansen, Jenny Henkel, Krysty Hernandez, Andrew J. West Side Story has music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Arthur Laurents.
"Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the 'American' Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks," according to press notes. "Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time."
The production also has lighting design by Amanda Zieve, costume design by Janet Pitcher, scenic design by Sean Fanning and sound design by Kevin Anthenill. The production manager is Bret Young, and the stage manager is Stanley Cohen.
