The cast of the current Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's Company—led by Tony winner Katrina Lenk— performed the title song from the production May 4 on NBC's Today.
Watch the Company company belt out "Company" below. The revival continues at Broadway's Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
With a score by Sondheim and a book by Furth, Company centers on the perpetually single Bobbie and her married friends, most of whom would very much like for her to be married, too.
The work premiered on Broadway in 1970 with a male protagonist. The current gender-swapped revival is the brainchild of director Marianne Elliot, who leads a creative team that also includes choreographer Liam Steel, set and costume designer Bunny Christie, lighting designer Neil Austin, sound designer Ian Dickinson of Autograph, and illusion designer Chris Fisher. Joel Fram serves as music supervisor and director, with orchestrations by David Cullen and dance arrangements by Sam Davis. Casting is by Cindy Tolan.
