Jasmine Amy Rogers is currently making her Broadway debut starring in the new musical BOOP! The Musical at the Broadhurst Theatre—and she says the character's reputation as a ditz does not match her actual history. Find out why Rogers says Betty is a secret feminist in her April 21 visit to CBS Mornings in the video above.
Tony winner Jerry Mitchell is directing and choreographing the new musical, which began previews March 11. The work features a book by Bob Martin, music by David Foster, and lyrics by Susan Birkenhead.
Leading the cast in the title role is Rogers, as Betty Boop, who travels from her cartoon black-and-white world into modern day New York City to learn a little bit more about herself and bring inspiration to jaded New Yorkers.
