Film & TV News Watch Ian McKellen Play Mind Games With Helen Mirren and Russell Tovey in The Good Liar The film’s trailer was released ahead of its November 15 release.

Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren will play cat and mouse with each this fall in The Good Liar, opening in theatres November 15.

McKellen plays con artist Roy who meets Betty (played by Mirren) on an online dating site. After learning she’s worth £3 million, Roy schemes to take her money as she starts to fall in love with him.

Russell Tovey plays Betty’s grandson, Steven, who appears suspicious of Roy’s true intentions in the trailer above.

Based on Nicholas Searle's novel, The Good Liar is directed by Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, Dreamgirls) and adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher. Downton Abbey’s Jim Carter, Mark Lewis Jones, and Celine Buckens round out the cast.
