The Tony winner and current Olivier nominee also opened up about starring in his dream role in West End's Cabaret.

Eddie Redmayne appeared on the April 6 episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon amid the release of his forthcoming movie Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and fresh off his recent West End Olivier-nominated turn as The Emcee in a revival of Cabaret.

The stage and screen actor played a game of "Know Your Role" with the talk show host, testing his knowledge of the Harry Potter cinematic universe. Watch the video above.

He also opened up about finishing his recent run in Cabaret. "I played [the role] as a kid when I was in school, so it's always been one of those lifelong dreams, and the whole show was a dream." Redmayne is currently nominated for an Olivier Award for his portrayal.

The Tony winner's other stage credits include playing Ken in Hohn Logan's Red both at London's Donmar Warehouse and Broadway's John Golden Theatre. On screen, he played Marius in the 2012 movie musical adaptation of Les Misérables.

During Redmayne's late night appearance, he went on to recall stories about his family's reaction (or lack thereof) to his recent West End role, and being pals with Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, Jamie Dornan, Charlie Cox, and Tom Sturridge.
