News Wallace Shawn's Evening at the Talk House Makes World Premiere at London's National Tonight The world premiere of Wallace Shawn's Evening at the Talk House, with a cast that features the playwright as well as Broadway actor Josh Hamilton, takes place at the National's Dorfman Theatre Nov. 24, following previews that began Nov. 17.

Directed by Ian Rickson, the full cast also includes Anna Calder-Marshall, Sinead Matthews, Stuart Milligan, Joseph Mydell, Simon Shepherd and Naomi Wirthner. The production has set designs by The Quay Brothers, costumes by Soutra Gilmour, lighting by Neil Austin, music by Stephen Warbeck and sound by Ian Dickinson.

The play is set at a reunion at the almost-legendary club, The Talk House. Still presided over by the kindly Nellie, there's the same genteel atmosphere, the familiar drinks and the special snacks.

Shawn was last represented at the National by the premiere of his play The Designated Mourner in 1996. Other plays include The Fever and Aunt Dan and Lemon. Screenplays include "My Dinner with Andre" and "Vanya on 42nd Street." Other acting credits include appearances in "Manhattan," "The Princess Bride," "Clueless," "The Good Wife" and the voice of Rex in the three "Toy Story" films.
