The 11th season of the PBS series Finding Your Roots will launch January 7 at 9 PM ET with an episode titled "Larger Than Life"; check local listings.

Host Henry Louis Gates, Jr. will connect Tony winner Lea Salonga and Amanda Seyfried to their dramatic ancestors. Get a sneak peek at the upcoming episode in the video above as Salonga—who will return to Broadway later this season opposite Bernadette Peters in Stephen Sondheim's Old Friends—discusses her initial concern about accepting the lead role in Miss Saigon.

"I was really concerned how conservative audiences in the Philippines were going to take it," Salonga says, "because my career up until that point was just very wholesome." Salonga would go on to win Olivier and Tony Awards for her performance as Kim in Saigon.

Upcoming episodes in the new season will also feature José Andrés, Joy Behar, Kristen Bell, Rubén Blades, Lonnie Bunch, Rita Dove, Laurence Fishburne, Debra Messing, Natalie Morales, Michael Imperioli, Melanie Lynskey, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Dax Shepard, Sean Sherman, Sharon Stone, Amy Tan, and Chrissy Teigen.
