Video: Julie Halston, Robbie Torres, Victor Garber, and Tim Young Tell Stories at Playbill's Remember the Ribbon Concert

Playbill's fifth annual Remember the Ribbon: A Tribute to World AIDS Day was held November 13 at NYC's Sony Hall, and featured a star-studded lineup of performers who performed songs and shared personal stories. Among them was Victor Garber, who told a story about his best friend Orrin Reiley, who died from AIDS in the '80s when the two were living together. The event honors the history of the HIV/AIDS crisis, as well as its continued impact. The evening was sponsored by Gilead Sciences, and presented in part by the Paramount+ series Fellow Travelers, with additional support from Hotel Edison and Sony Hall.

Proceeds benefited Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which works to support those affected by AIDS by providing meals, medication, healthcare, and hope.

Remember the Ribbon was hosted by ABC7's Karl J. Schmid, and featured appearances from a host of stars of the stage and screen, including Shoshana Bean, Julie Halston, Willam Belli, Victor Garber, Dimitri J. Moise, Michael Buchanan, Tim Young, Anne Fraser Thomas, Robbie Torres, Coulby Jenkins, Joe Beauregard, and Darius Wright, as well as Playbill vice president Alex Birsh, and representatives from Broadway Cares. Allen René Louis and Shaunice Alexander performed as background vocalists, backed by The Broadway Sings Band: Cynthia Meng (music director/keys), Yuka Tadano (bass), Andy Buslovich (guitar), Sasha Ono (cello), & Emma Ford (drums).

Before the concert, stars including drag queen Brita Filter, playwright Donja R. Love, influencer Jae Gurley, and more walked the red carpet, showcasing their dazzling looks for the evening. The evening's performances included a collection of songs and stories, commemorating those living with HIV/AIDS and those whose lives have been lost to the disease. Finally, DJ Mike Borowski hosted a dessert DJ set.

Remember The Ribbon is executed, produced, and co-directed by Bryan Campione and Leonard Rodino, with music production by Corey Mach and choreography by Sidney Erik Wright. Cynthia Meng is music directing, with arrangements by Meng and Joshua Stephen Kartes, and vocal arrangements by Allen René Louis. Sydney Steele served as production stage manager, with Kevin McConville and Mason Huse as associate stage managers. Event producers include Joshua Stone, Jolie Schaffzin, Jim Cairl, and Lane Beauchamp.
