Teachers Night on Broadway returned February 2, with 500 New York City public school educators attending a performance of How to Dance in Ohio on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre.

Presented by The Broadway League in conjunction with the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), Teachers Night on Broadway welcomes teachers, paraprofessionals, social workers, guidance counselors, and more to enjoy an evening of live theatre.

Following the performance, actor Conor Tague, currently making his Broadway debut as Tommy in the musical, acknowledged from the stage all the educators in the audience. A graduate of the Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts in Manhattan, Tague remarked, “All of us at How to Dance in Ohio want to thank you for nurturing the next generation of producers, performers, musicians, directors, writers, stagehands, designers, and Broadway audiences. We know you are always there for your students, providing them with emotional support and a lifeline. We are really glad you are here so we can celebrate you and your important work!”

How to Dance in Ohio opened at the Belasco Theatre December 10. The show is a major milestone for neurodivergent representation on Broadway, with seven openly autistic actors playing the show's seven autistic characters, as echoed in the show's mantra: "nothing about us without us." The production will run through February 11.
