Jeanine Tesori and David Lindsay-Abaire's new musical Kimberly Akimbo, which premiered at Atlantic Theater Company this past fall, is moving uptown. The Broadway premiere will begin previews October 12, with an opening night set for November 10 at a Shubert theatre to be announced.

Kimberly Akimbo features a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winner Lindsay-Abaire (based on his play of the same name), music by Tony winner Tesori, choreography by Danny Mefford, and direction by Jessica Stone.

The cast from the world-premiere Atlantic Theater production (read the reviews here) is set to reprise their roles for Broadway, including Tony winner Victoria Clark (The Light in the Piazza) as Kimberly, a bright New Jersey teenager with an aging disease that makes her look like a 72-year-old lady.

The returning cast also includes Justin Cooley in his Broadway debut, Tony nominee Steven Boyer (Hand to God), Alli Mauzey (Cry Baby, Wicked), Bonnie Milligan (Head Over Heels), and Fernell Hogan (The Prom), plus Olivia Elease Hardy, Michael Iskander, and Nina White, who will all be making their Broadway debuts.

Producers for the Broadway production are David Stone, Atlantic Theatre Company, James L. Nederlander, LaChanze, John Gore, Patrick Catullo, and Aaron Glick. The complete creative team will be announced at a later date.
