News T.R. Knight Will Star in World Premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's Pocatello at Playwrights Horizons Emmy Award nominee T.R. Knight, best known for his role on TV's "Grey's Anatomy," will return to the New York stage in Pocatello, a new work by prolific playwright Samuel D. Hunter.

Directed by Davis McCallum, the world-premiere production will begin performances at Playwrights Horizons Nov. 21 prior to an official opening Dec. 15. The production will continue through Jan. 4, 2015.

Joining Knight (Romeo and Juliet, A Life in the Theatre) are Jessica Dickey (Wit, Hit the Wall), Tony Award nominee Jonathan Hogan (The Homecoming, Burn This), Brian Hutchison (The Invention of Love, Proof), Leah Karpel (Hot L Baltimore, 4000 Miles), Cameron Scoggins (The Big Meal, Lovers), Brenda Wehle (The Big Knife, Come Back Little Sheba), Danny Wolohan (The Patron Saint of Sea Monsters, An Octoroon) and Elvy Yost (Black Tie, The Belle of Belfast). A final cast member will be announced a a later date. 

"Eddie (Mr. Knight) manages an Italian chain restaurant in Pocatello – a small, unexceptional American city that is slowly being paved over with strip malls and franchises," press notes state. "But he can’t serve enough Soup, Salad and Breadstick Specials to make his hometown feel like home. Against the harsh backdrop of Samuel D. Hunter’s Idaho, this heartbreaking comedy is a cry for connection in an increasingly lonely American landscape."

The production will feature scenic design by Lauren Helpern, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Eric Southern and sound design by Matt Tierney. The production stage manager is Lisa Ann Chernoff. As previously announced, the 2014-15 season also includes Bootycandy, the New York premiere of a new play written and directed by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara; Grand Concourse, the world premiere of a new play by Heidi Schreck, directed by Kip Fagan; Placebo, the world premiere of a new play by Melissa James Gibson, directed by Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin; Iowa, the world premiere of a new musical play by Jenny Schwartz, with music and lyrics by Todd Almond, directed by Ken Rus Schmoll; and The Qualms, the New York premiere of a new play by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Bruce Norris, directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon.
