After rehearsals in NYC, fellow cast mates would sometimes grab dinner! Here’s part of the gang heading to Bare Burger! Um…YUM.

Rehearsing in the heart of Manhattan is unreal. We had the best views from the 17th floor!

The ensemble guys were so pumped to finally have our gold tap shoes! We HAD to show them off in the studio, of course.

For our final rehearsal in NYC, 42nd Street alums sat and watched with beaming smiles and incredible support. What a way to be sent off on this new adventure. Thanks for coming, guys!

Here we go! Courtney, Alicia, Emily and I trekked to the airport together early in the morning to catch our flight to Seattle, WA! Hey, west coast!
Our drive from Seattle to Yakima, WA was stunning. Beautiful mountains everywhere you look! My phone was glued to the window snapping photos the whole drive.

This was the actors’ view from stage during tech rehearsals. All of the creative team sat in the house watching our performance making final adjustments to make our show beautiful!

Wahoo! We jumped right in to tech rehearsals with costumes. I did NOT know, however that I would have ORANGE tap shoes. My favorite color. This was a great day.
Brady Miller
A little pre-show action - checking props, stretching and warming up. My character reads and practices some Shakespeare after the opening audition number!
Brady Miller
Matthew, Mitchell and myself posing in our snazzy “Plenty of Money” costumes. Another one of my favorites.

Mandy and I showing off our orange. Can’t get enough!

We had our first preview and it was a HUGE success! Our producers at Troika provided a great step and repeat for us to take fancy photos in front of! Such an exciting night!

Our poster was displayed outside the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City – our opening city!
Brady Miller
Our first wall tag! We added our artwork and signatures to the hallway among tons of other productions that have been at this beautiful venue.
Brady Miller
Some of the company took a visit to Mount Rushmore! Check that off the national monument bucket list.
Brady Miller
t’s never a bad time to rehearse. The ladies of the cast strike a pose from “Shadow Waltz” in front of the presidents. Classic.
Brady Miller
From Australia to the United States. Our own Kahlia Davis poses with the monument!
Brady Miller
A shameless Russian for Rushmore. (Lame puns are my specialty).

Cast mates checking out THE falls of Sioux Falls, SD! Really stunning views here and one of my favorite stops.

Ames, IA. This theater is massive and beautiful. Such a treat to perform here!

Our wardrobe staff Rachel and Meredith being silly back stage with the poppies. They really know how to keep the morale alive!

Bus life takes some adjusting. But we’ve created quite a cozy jungle gym of sleeping arrangements, if I do say so myself. How many people can you count?
Brady Miller
We had an overnight stop in Cleveland at the same time the touring cast of Bullets Over Broadway was prepping for their opening night! The casts met and bowled and had the best time. Here we all are, being super photogenic.
Brady Miller
Our co-dance captain and male swing Tanner was on for a few performances! You guys…he killed it!
Brady Miller
Our stage manager, Donavan and our sound technician Zach going over some notes during intermission. The work never stops!

The hair department backstage is incredible. Every girl in the ensemble switches to a blonde wig in a matter of seconds (really), and it’s thanks to that great team backstage! Thanks, y’all!
Brady Miller
Speaking of quick changes, this is what it looks like back stage in order to get all of these beautiful pieces on stage. Everything is set in a specific order and in a certain place so the actors can easily slide into the next costume.
Brady Miller
A quick selfie with some cast mates before we go on to serenade Peggy Sawyer with “The Lullaby of Broadway.”
Brady Miller
Maggie Jones (Britte) givin’ some sass back stage before bows!

Molly (and the photobombing Courtney) and I getting ready for the encore!

Gotta take a selfie with a cool marquee like this! Thanks, Waterbury, CT! Loved performing here.

Schoolmates on tour together! Saori, our ASM, and I repping Ohio Northern University! So fun being with her on the road.
Brady Miller
Also in Waterbury, we found the wall tag from 10 years ago! So we added on to it to keep the 42nd Street legacy alive!
Brady Miller
This is what our set looks like when it’s not on stage. These giant pieces are getting set in place.
Brady Miller
Some sound check fun! Our own Julian Marsh (Matthew) was LIVING for the huge auditorium.
Brady Miller
Another look at our set pieces! We fly the dressing room to save more space for the other set pieces back stage.
Brady Miller
At intermission, this is what you see: THOUSANDS of costume pieces being reorganized, actors preparing for act two, and the tech crew setting the stage. Controlled madness!
Brady Miller
We don’t waste any time when we get off the bus on travel days. Here’s some of the cast and I exploring Buckhannon, WV. We had the BEST food ever for dinner (sorry, mom)
Brady Miller
Jocelyn and I have an amazing ability to match perfectly for sound check without knowing.
Brady Miller
THIS is the moment we all wait for. My first visitor came to the show in Ashland, KY. It’s always great to see friends and family on the road!
Brady Miller
Does this photo even NEED a caption? Portland, ME is BEAUTIFUL.
Brady Miller
I tried my first lobster…and my first oysters…and my first shrimp…and my first chowder. All in Portland, ME. I HIGHLY recommend everything, just maybe not all in one sitting. I was stuffed.
Brady Miller
Sound check in Orono, ME. Such a neat auditorium!
Brady Miller
Fall is the best season, right? And what better way to celebrate seeing fall in Maine than by throwing leaves everywhere? It was awesome.
Brady Miller
Tommy and I casually stretching before “We’re in the Money.” Gotta keep those “money kicks” in check!
Brady Miller
Well, Peggy Sawyer and the thief have loved having you! We hope to see you at the show! Thanks for taking this look into our lives on the road!
The production is directed by co-author Mark Bramble and choreographed by Randy Skinner, the team who staged the 2001 Tony Award-winning Best Revival.

With book by Michael Stewart and Bramble, music by Harry Warren and lyrics by Al Dubin, 42nd Street is based on a novel by Bradford Ropes and Busby Berkeley’s 1933 movie and tells the story of a "starry-eyed young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her Allentown home and comes to New York to audition for the new Broadway musical Pretty Lady. When the leading lady breaks her ankle, Peggy takes over and becomes a star," according to press notes.
The original stage adaptation of 42nd Street was produced on Broadway in 1980 by David Merrick and featured direction and dances by Gower Champion. It played for 3,486 performances, winning Tony Awards for Best Musical and Best Choreography. The Broadway revival, which opened in 2001, played 1,524 performances and earned two Tony Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical.
The production also has scenic design by Tony Award winner Beowulf Boritt (Act One, The Scottsboro Boys, Annie), costume design by Tony Award winner Roger Kirk (The King and I, 42nd Street, Jesus Christ Superstar), lighting design by Tony Award winner Ken Billington (Chicago, Annie, White Christmas) and sound design by Peter Fitzgerald (Movin’ Out, Will Rogers Follies, 42nd Street).
