Playbill Universe The Verdict: Critics Review Revised London Production of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown The West End premiere of a revised version of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane's 2010 Broadway musical version of the 1988 film of the same name by Pedro Almodóvar, officially opened at London's Playhouse Theatre Jan. 12, following previews that began Dec. 16.
Hadyn Gwynne

Tamsin Greig, Haydn Gwynne, Jérôme Pradon and Anna Skellern lead the cast, and are joined by Willemijn Verkaik, Ricardo Alfonso and Haydn Oakley.

Additional cast members include Marianne Benedict, Holly James, Michael Matus, Rebecca McKinnis, Sarah Moyle, Alastair Natkiel, Nuno Queimado and Dale Rapley.

Originally based by Almodóvar on Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice, the show portrays Pepa (Greig), Candela (Skellern) and Lucia (Gwynne) struggling for power over their own lives.

The production has been reconceived and re-imagined for the U.K. stage by its original Broadway director Bartlett Sher.
