Off-Broadway's Blue Man Group, which has been running for over three decades, is set to close February 2, 2025, the New York Times reports.
Begun by a trio of Lower East Side street performers—Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton—the pop-art theatre production made its Off-Broadway debut November 17, 1991. The show will have played over 17,000 performances at the Astor Place Theatre at the time of closing.
Now owned and operated by Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, the production and its trio of bald, blue men explore society's cultural norms (and poke a little fun at the audience along the way) with their own particular blend of art, music, and technology.

Since its Off-Broadway opening, the show has expanded to include sit-down productions in Las Vegas, Boston, and Chicago, as well as North American and international tours in over 15 countries. The Orlando production is scheduled to reopen next spring, after a four-year hiatus due to COVID-19.
