BroadwayHD has several spooky titles available for October, including Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street starring Angela Lansbury and George Hearn; the 25th Anniversary staging of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera Royal Albert Hall; Jekyll Hyde: The Musical starring David Hasselhoff; the musical adaptation of The Toxic Avenger; and The Pleasance Theatre's Night of the Living Dead Live.
The stage streamer will also premiere Nick Blaemire and Van Hughes Off-Broadway musical Space Dogs, the story of Laika and the Russian scientist who sent her into space. Filmed at its MCC Theater run, the musical will be available to stream October 13.
Paramount+
Paramount+ will present the documentary Fiddler’s Journey to the Big Screen, which chronicles director Norman Jewison's quest to adapt the stage musical for the big screen. Narrated by Jeff Goldblum, the Daniel Raim doc includes behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen stills as well as original interviews with Jewison, Topol (Tevye), composer John Williams, production designer Robert F. Boyle, film critic Kenneth Turan, lyricist Sheldon Harnick, and actresses Rosalind Harris, Michele Marsh, and Neva Small. Available from October 3.

Cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show hits Hulu this month. Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick can be found doing the Time Warp again in this 1975 film adaptation of the 1973 stage musical The Rocky Horror Show.
Netflix
The 1985 film The Color Purple will be available on Netflix beginning October 1. Go back and take a look at the film (adapted from the Alice Walker novel of the same name) that inspired the Broadway musical that earned Tony Awards for both LaChanze and Cynthia Erivo as Celie in the original 2005 production and the 2015 production, respectively.
Disney+
Disney+ will stream a sing-along version of the film adaptation of Into the Woods featuring on-screen lyrics (as if you need them). Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, and Emily Blunt star in the 2014 film of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine fairy tale mashup musical. The sing-along streams October 14.
Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime has Tyler Perry's 2010 film adaptation of Ntozake Shange's 1975 original choreopoem for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow is enuf. The film, titled For Colored Girls, features an ensemble cast including Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Thandiwe Newton, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose, Tessa Thompson, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray.
