Presented in a translation by Christopher Hampton, it is directed by James Macdonald and features Kenneth Cranham in the title role of a man, now 80 years old, who is exhibiting signs of the onset of dementia, and Claire Skinner as his daughter Anne.
The cast also includes Rebecca Charles with further casting to be announced.
Cranham was Tony-nominated in New York for his role in Stephen Daldry's An Inspector Calls. Skinner won the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best Actress for The Glass Menagerie at the Donmar Warehouse. Macdonald has worked extensively Off-Broadway, where he was recently the winner of the 2014 Obie Award for Best Director for Caryl Churchill's Love and Information.
Zeller's other plays include The Mother, winner of the Moliere Award, France’s highest theatrical honor.
Hampton's own plays include The Philanthropist, Savages, Tales From Hollywood and Les Liaisons Dangereuses (the latter of which is being revived at the Donmar Warehouse this Christmas). The production is designed by Miriam Buether, with lighting by Guy Hoare and sound by Christopher Shutt.
