Nathan Lane, Danny Burstein, and Zoë Wanamaker are about to play real people on Broadway. Their new project, Pictures From Home is based on the memoir by Larry Sultan. Over the course of almost a decade, Sultan photographed and conducted interviews with his parents. The work is a probing exploration of a family, which is not always comfortable. To which Lane, who plays Sultan's father Irving in the play, remarks to Playbill, "To me it is astonishing they allowed it go on!"

Wanamaker adds that Sultan has "created the most gorgeous, fascinating stories."

Pictures From Home begins previews on Broadway January 13, with an opening night of February 9 at Studio 54. For Sharr White, who wrote the play, he describes the work as "very Freudian," saying, that Sultan's project "really encompasses ownership of image, who gets to own the family narrative."
