News Susan Blackwell and NYMF's Volleygirls Will Reunite for NYC Concert A concert version of Volleygirls, which will include tunes from the 2013 New York Musical Theatre Festival production as well as old fan favorites from earlier incarnations of the musical, will be held July 30 at 54 Below.

The 9:30 PM concert, hosted by Susan Blackwell ([title of show]), will benefit the It Gets Better Project.

Volleygirls, which starred Blackwell, took home top honors from the NYMF Awards for Excellence, including the Best of Fest Award, Outstanding Ensemble Award, the Promising New Musical Award and the New World Stages development prize.

Blackwell played Kim Brindell, a disgraced Olympian coaching an oddball team of high-school volleyball players in the musical, featuring a book by Rob Ackerman, lyrics by Sam Forman, music by Eli Bolin, choreography by Ryan Kasprazak and direction by Neil Patrick Stewart.

In addition to Blackwell, the concert will feature Krysta Rodriguez (First Date, "Smash"), Eric Michael Gillett (Kiss Me, Kate), PJ Adzima, Benjamin Howes ([title of show], Scandalous), Jennifer C. Johnson, Julia Knitel (Bye Bye Birdie), Gerianne Perez, Allison Posner, Dana Steingold (Calvin Berger, Bubble Boy), Allison Strong (Bye Bye Birdie) and more.

The concert is directed by Stewart with musical direction by composer Eli Bolin, and the "Sweat" band will feature Mike Pettry, Eric Davis, Brendan O'Grady and Alex Wyatt. Monica Raymund of Sisu Theatrical Productions, LLC, Jacob Harvey of Cave 76 Productions, LLC, and Jordi Coats present the Volleygirls concert, and Jordi Coats is the concert's general manager.
