There are no reports of damage to the Orpheum itself. The Public Theater tweeted "due to to poor air quality in neighborhood, all perfs at The Public & Joe's Pub are canceled tonight. Call (212) 967-7555 to resched or refund."[sic] Local media report that 12 people were injured and two burning buildings collapsed. The block of Second Avenue including the affected building and the Orpheum Theatre was closed to traffic as of Thursday afternoon, as flames and a cloud of grayish-black smoke rose over the East Village area from the seven-alarm fire. Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters the blast was gas-related.
The official Stomp website carried a message to their neighbors saying, "Our thoughts go out to the people affected by this." The site also recommends that ticket holders contact their point of purchase for refunds and exchanges. Tickets to Stomp are sold online through Ticketmaster.
