Original Spring Awakening star Skylar Astin will host a special outdoor Tony Awards simulcast in Damrosch Park at Lincoln Center June 16. The free event will give Broadway fans a chance to watch this year's Tony ceremony just steps away from where it's actually happening—Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater.

But it's not just a watch party. Attendees will be able to participate in a number of interactive events as well, including photo ops and Broadway trivia. Food will also be available via a concession stand and Shake Shack food truck. American Express card holders will get a 10% discount on concessions.

Attendees will also get access to a special digital version of the Tony Awards Playbill by scanning a QR code.

“We are delighted to welcome Skylar Astin as host of the American Express simulcast event at the 77th annual Tony Awards,” say American Theatre Wing President and CEO Heather Hitchens and Broadway League Interim President Jason Laks in a joint statement. “We are certain he will cultivate an evening of excitement amongst theatre fans on Broadway’s biggest night.”

“With Skylar Astin joining us as host, we cannot wait for all that’s in store at our simulcast of this year’s Tony Awards in Damrosch Park," adds American Express VP of Global Brand Sponsorships and Experiential Marketing Shiz Suzuki. “The event will immerse our Card Members and attendees in this momentous night in theatre, in a way that gives them an opportunity to celebrate and experience the unique excitement and energy of the ceremony in real-time.”

More information about the event is available at AmericanExpress.com.

Nominations for the 2024 Tony Awards were revealed April 30, with Hell's Kitchen and Stereophonic taking the mantle as the most Tony-nominated productions of the seasons with 13 nods each. See the full list of nominations here.
