New Works Provincetown and Shared Experience are currently presenting a two-week London workshop of the new musical Maiden Voyage that will culminate with industry presentations January 16-17 at the Kiln Theatre.
Directed by Josette Bushell-Mingo, the cast features Emily Lane, Corinna Brown, Irvine Iqbal, Gina Murray, and Damian Humbley.
Maiden Voyage has a book and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein (Little Women, Benny & Joon) and Carmel Dean (Renascense, Well-Behaved Women). The new musical follows the first all-female racing crew of Maiden, who made history by competing in the 1989-1990 Whitbread Round the World Yacht Race.
The creative team also includes orchestrator Michael Starobin and music director Nick Barstow.
