Inspired by J.K. Rowling's seven-part book series, the Jack Thorne-penned play continues its run at the Lyric Theatre.

As Harry Potter and the Cursed Child prepares to celebrate its fifth birthday on Broadway, new production shots have been revealed from the magical production, including glimpses of never-before-revealed scenes.

The Tony Award-winning play will celebrate its fifth birthday (which falls on April 22) with Five Days of Magic, beginning with a special presentation from the New York City Mayor's Office at the April 19 matinee performance. Other festivities include an in-person lottery April 21 for $5 tickets, a chance to win special prizes, special commemorative gifts for audiences at both April 22 performances, and both special guests and more giveaways at the April 23 performance.

Written by Jack Thorne from a story devised by J.K. Rowling, Thorne, and production director John TiffanyHarry Potter and the Cursed Child continues its run at Broadway's Lyric Theatre. The play premiered in London's West End in 2016, winning nine Olivier Awards including Best New Play; and made the jump to Broadway in 2018, winning six Tony Awards including Best Play. The work was originally designed as two full-length two-act plays, though the Broadway production was streamlined into one two-act play when it reopened following the 2020 shutdown. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has also opened productions in Melbourne, Toronto, and Tokyo.

The production features movement by Steven Hoggett, scenic design by Christine Jones, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, music and arrangements by Imogen Heap, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Gareth Fry, illusions and magic by Jamie Harrison, and music supervision and arrangements by Martin Lowe. Casting is by Jim Carnahan.

The current cast is led by Steve Haggard as Harry Potter, Angela Reed as Ginny Potter, Jenny Jules as Hermione Granger, David Abeles as Ron Weasley, Aaron Bartz as Draco Malfoy, Maya Thomas as Rose Granger-Weasley, Erik C. Peterson as Scorpius Malfoy, and Joel Meyer as Albus Potter.
