Sunday, Jan. 17: Liza Paul and Bahia Watson offer a fresh, funny and distinctly West Indian look at womanhood in pomme is french for apple at Joe's Pub, returning as part of the Under the Radar festival. Monday, Jan. 18: Birdland welcomes the return of Merman's Apprentice, starring Klea Blackhurst in the role of Broadway great Ethel Merman. The concert staging, which sold out its June engagement last year, celebrates the original cast recording of the musical. Tickets from $25; 7 PM.

Wednesday, Jan. 20: Lincoln Center's 2016 American Songbook series kicks off with a bang with an intimate solo concert by Tony nominee Vanessa Williams.
