Chicago's Black Ensemble Theater concludes its current season with Sammy: A Musical Tribute to Sammy Davis Jr., written and directed by Black Ensemble Theater Associate Director Daryl D. Brooks.

Choreographed by Rueben D. Echoles, performances at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center are December 9–January 21, 2018.

The cast features Michael Adkins as Sammy Davis Jr., Dwight Neal as Sammy Davis Sr., Rueben D. Echoles as Will Mastin, Rhonda Preston as Rosa Davis, Nathan Cooper as Frank Sinatra, Mark Yacullo as Dean Martin, Emily Hawkins as May Britt, Kylah Williams as Altovis Davis, and Trequon Tate as George Johnson, with ensemble members Kenny Davis, Linnea Norwood and Brian Boler.

Sammy: A Musical Tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. charts the rise of the entertainment icon and Rat Pack member, following his career from his beginnings in vaudeville to his success in Las Vegas.

The creative team also includes musical director/arranger Robert Reddrick, costume designer Alexia Rutherford, set and lighting designer Denise Karczewski, sound and projection designer Aaron Quick, and sound designer David Samba. The Equity stage manager is Bekki Lambrecht.
