S. Asher Gelman (Afterglow, safeword)'s newest play Scarlett Dreams will premiere Off-Broadway later this spring. Playing Greenwich House Theatre from April 3, the play will officially open April 15.
Scarlett Dreams centers on two siblings, Milo and Liza, who have created a fitness app for a virtual reality headset. When Milo's husband Kevin falls in love with his virtual trainer Scarlett, the dividing lines between the digital world and reality come into question.
Starring Brittany Bellizeare (Flex, sandblasted) as Liza, Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies, Tuck Everlasting) as Kevin, Caroline Lellouche (We Are The Tigers, Annie) as Scarlett, and Borris Anthony York (Holiday Inn, Pippin) as Milo, the play will be directed by Gelman.
The design team for Scarlett Dreams includes Christopher and Justin Swader (Dig) as co-set designers, Emily Rebholz (Indecent, Gutenberg! The Musical) as costume designer, Jamie Roderick (Make Me Gorgeous) as lighting designer, Brian Pacelli (Tommy and Me) as projection designer, and Alex Mackyol (Afterglow) as sound designer. Jeff Markowitz will serve as production stage manager. Casting is by Hart Casting.
