Following sold out runs at the Turbine Theatre, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Garrick Theatre, as well as a return engagement at the Ambassadors Theatre in the West End, the Olivier Award nominated solo play My Son's A Queer (But What Can You Do) will receive special industry presentations in New York later this month.
Written by and starring Rob Madge, the autobiography solo show centers on Madge (Oliver!, Les Misérables) at age 12 as they attempt to create a full scale Disney parade in their house for their grandmother. Madge is non-binary.
Industry presentations of the play will be held May 23 and 24 at The Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre. Directed by Luke Sheppard and featuring songs by Pippa Cleary, My Son's A Queer (But What Can You Do) is one of several Edinburgh Fringe favorites to have attempted hopping the pond in recent years, including the Tony winning SIX and the upcoming Broadway production of The Shark is Broken.
