Feinstein’s/54 Below will present the return of Rita McKenzie’s one-woman musical, Ethel Merman’s Broadway, September 28 at 7 PM.
The evening will feature direction by Christopher Powich, musical direction by David Snyder and a seven-piece orchestra.
According to press notes, “Ethel Merman’s Broadway is a love letter to the life and times of Ethel Merman, the Queen of Broadway’s Golden Age. Ms. McKenzie brings to life 16 of the greatest hits of Broadway in this thrilling show which recalls the glorious days of the Great White Way and its brightest Star.”
McKenzie has performed the show throughout the world, including New York’s Carnegie Hall, Pasadena Playhouse and in Canada, Europe and Asia.
McKenzie recently appeared in the Off-Broadway musical Ruthless! She co-starred with Barbara Eden in the national tour of Neil Simon’s female version of The Odd Couple, and she toured with Renee Taylor and Joe Bologna in Bermuda Avenue Triangle.
