The reviews are rolling in for the Broadway premiere of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, which officially opened December 4 at the Broadhurst Theatre. Previews for the bio musical began November 2. 

Tony nominee Will Swenson stars as Neil Diamond-Then, which takes a look at the life of the Grammy-winning Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, then and now, accompanied by hits from his decades-long career in popular music. All songs are written or co-written by Neil Diamond with orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer. The book for A Beautiful Noise is by Anthony McCarten, whose play The Collaboration is currently running at Manhattan Theatre Club.

Joining Swenson in the cast are Tony nominees Mark Jacoby as Neil Diamond-Now and Robyn Hurder as Diamond's former wife Marcia, along with Linda Powell, Jessie Fisher, Michael McCormick, Tom Alan Robbins, Bri Sudia, Kalonjee Gallimore, Alex Hairston, Jess LeProtto, Tatiana Lofton, Aaron James McKenzie, Mary Page Nance, Max Sangerman, and MiMi Scardulla, with Ninako Donville, Samantha Gershman, Makai Hernandez, and Robert Pendilla as swings.

Neal Benari serves as the standby for Neil Diamond-Now and Nick Fradiani as Alternate Neil Diamond-Then. Swenson is playing a schedule of seven performances per week with Fradiani stepping in for Wednesday evening performances.

Also featured on the creative team are choreographer Steven Hoggett, scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designer Jessica Paz, and hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren. Music supervision and arrangements are by Sonny Paladino with incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer, and vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo.

The musical premiered at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre July 2022 before transferring to Broadway. A cast album was released digitally November 2 and on CD December 2.
