In Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, Brando played Stanley Kowalski, a crude, brutal man very much at odds with his delicate sister-in-law, Blanche DuBois who comes to live with him. Here is a scene from the 1951 film version of Streetcar, directed by Elia Kazan, who also staged the play on Broadway.
In this scene, Stanley meets Blanche for the first time.
