San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre has announced the complete cast for Kimber Lee’s tokyo fish story, set to begin performances May 28. The production, directed by May Adrales, will officially open June 2.
Lee’s play follows a master sushi chef whose legendary Tokyo restaurant is losing its customers to newer and fancier places. The cast includes Tina Chilip, Tim Chiou, Raymond Lee, James Saito and Jon Norman Schneider.
The creative team includes Mikiko Suzuki MacAdams (scenic design), David Israel Reynoso (costume design), Jiyoun Chang (lighting design), Nathan A. Roberts and Charles Coes (sound design and original music), David Huber (vocal coach), Caparelliotis Casting (casting) and Jess Slocum (production stage manager).
Lee’s plays include Brownsville song (b-side for tray), which played Off-Broadway at LCT3 at Lincoln Center.
Tokyo fish story is set to run through June 1 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets can be purchased online at TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE, or by visiting the box office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.
