Readings and Workshops New Post-Apocalyptic Musical From Urinetown's Greg Kotis to Receive NYC Staged Readings

Directed by Nathaniel P. Claridad, The End of All Flesh's readings will be open to the public via Out of the Box Theatrics.

Out of the Box Theatrics will kick off its annual Building the Box series with a staged reading of The End of All Flesh, described as a "post-Apocalyptic bluegrass musical." The work features a book, music, and lyrics by Urinetown Tony winner Greg Kotis. The readings will be presented March 27 at 1 and 7 PM at TheaterLab, with tickets available to the public.

Set on a remote mountaintop sometime in the future, the work follows Ma, Pa, and Boy as they fight to stay alive after surviving the End Times.

Nathaniel P. Claridad will direct a cast including Ayun Halliday, Jakeim Hart, Kotis, and EJ Zimmerman. Musicians will include Melody Berger on fiddle, Hilary Hawke on banjo and guitar, Cesar Moreno on mandolin and guitar, and Yoshiki Yamada on upright bass. Adam Rothenberg is music supervisor, with music direction by Melody Berger. Ana Sophia Colón is stage manager.
