New musical Afterwords, which recently premiered at Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, will receive a private developmental workshop in New York November 17 and 18.
Directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt, Afterwords features music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak, and a book by Emily Kaczmarek. When two sisters suddenly lose their mother, the pair are forced to redefine their lives and their family when they return to their childhood home. Simultaneously, a young war reporter named Jo struggles to write the perfect tribute to her late mentor while living under the same roof as her daughters.
The developmental work sessions will star Andi Alhadeff (Rent), Kerstin Anderson (My Fair Lady), Kennedy Caughell (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Jeremy Kushnier (Head Over Heels), Tyler Hardwick (Once On This Island), Anastacia McCleskey (Caroline or Change), Mari Nelson (Six Degrees of Separation) and Saxton Jay Walker.
Creative team members will include music supervisor Matt Perri, general manager Alchemy Production Group, casting director Xavier Rubiano, and sound designer John Shivers.
