Barrington Stage Company (BSC) has revealed casting and creative teams for four of their 2024-2025 season's productions. The season marks the 30th anniversary for the Massachusetts company.
From July 17-August 3, BSC will present Marc Camoletti's Boeing Boeing, translated by Beverly Cross and Francis Evans. BSC Founding Artistic Director Julianne Boyd will direct.
The cast will include Mark H. Dold as Robert, Christopher Innvar as Bernard, Debra Jo Rupp as Berthe, Gisela Chipe as Gloria, Stephanie Jean Lane as Gabriella, and Kate MacCluggage as Gretchen.
The production will feature scenic design by Kristen Robinson, costume design by BSC Associate Artist Sarah Jean Tosetti, lighting design by BSC Associate Artist David Lander and sound design by Fabian Obispo. The creative team also includes intimacy director Leigh Zimmerman, dialect coach Amanda Quaid, clowning consultant Michael F. Toomey, production stage manager Ryan Gohsman, and assistant stage manager Merit Glover.
As previously reported, BSC will stage the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal August 13-September 8, with Artistic Director Alan Paul directing. The work features a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt.
Natalie Joy Johnson (Lempicka) will star as Diana, with BSC Associate Artist Alan H. Green (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Dan, Adante Carter (Mean Girls) as Gabe, Madison McBride (Full Circle) as Natalie, Ben Clark (Next to Normal) as Henry, and Joseph Morales (Hamilton) as Dr. Madden.
The production will feature choreography by Eamon John Foley, scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Helen Huang, lighting design by Cory Pattak, sound design by Ken Travis, projections design by Nick Hussong, and musical direction by Angela Steiner. Production stage manager is Jason Brouillard.
BSC's regional premiere of Ben Power's A Tender Thing will run June 25-July 20, with Paul at the helm. The cast will include Derek Smith (Ring Round the Moon) as Romeo and Candy Buckley as Juliet.
The production will feature scenic design by Marsha Ginsberg, costume design by Ricky Reynoso, lighting design by Robert Weizel and sound design and music by Fabian Obispo. Movement is by Mayte Natalio, the voice and text consultant is Lisa Beley, and the production stage manager is Jason Brouillard.
The world premiere of Mark St. Germain's Forgiveness will run July 30-August 25 at BSC, with Ron Lagomarsino directing. The cast will include Joey Collins, Darlene Hope, Caesar Samayoa, and Peggy Pharr Wilson.
The creative team includes scenic designer Brian Prather, costume designer Dina El-Aziz, lighting designer Reza Behjat, sound designer Brendan Aanes, and production stage manager Leslie Sears. Forgiveness is commissioned by BSC’s Sydelle Blatt New Works Fund.
The season also includes La Cage aux Folles, directed by Mike Donahue and running June 11-July 6; and the regional premiere of Eboni Booth's Pulitzer Prize-winning Primary Trust September 18-October 13, directed by Jennifer Chang. Casting will be announced at a later date.
