High School Play: A Nostalgia Fest is headed for Houston, Texas' Alley Theatre, running January 21–February 13—a live taping is set to stream February 14–27.
Written by Vichet Chum, the play centers on a competitive theatre troupe at Riverside High School in Carrolton, Texas. Still reeling from last year's unprecedented loss, Dara is rallying his teammates when a new student and a challenging new play change everything for the troupe and the community around them.
Daniel Velasco stars as Dara, with Ricardo Dávila as Rich, Sabrina Koss as Kailee, Mai Lee as Allison, Melissa Pritchell as Ms. Blow and Mrs. Simms, Kiaya Scott as Sophie, Jarred Tettey as Paul, and Todd Waite as Dirkson and Mr. Bland. Get a sneak peek at the cast below.
The production is directed by Tiffany Nichole Greene, leading a creative team that includes scenic designer Michael Locher, lighting designer Kevin Rigdon, sound designer Melanie Chen Cole, and costume designer Ari Fulton. Rebecca R.D. Hamlin is stage manager, with Ethan Mitchell serving as assistant stage manager.
