Off-Broadway News Meet Hillary Clinton... in Off-Broadway's Upcoming Parody Musical Five

Ivana... Marla... Melania... Stormy... Ivanka... Can you guess the theme of this new political musical?

Jasmine Rice LaBeija

Drag queen Jasmine Rice LaBeija will take on former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Off-Broadway's upcoming parody musical FIVE, playing Theater 555 February 15-March 10. Opening night is February 19.

Featuring a book and lyrics by Shimmy Braun and Moshiel Newman Daphna and music and lyrics by Billy Recce (A Musical About Star Wars), Five takes a cue from Six but turns its eyes to the major women within the orbit of another incendiary political figure. Take a look at the cast of characters, and we bet you'll be able to figure out which.

LaBeija joins a previously announced cast that includes Anyae Anasia as Ivana, Gabriella Joy Rodriguez (The Color Purple) as Marla, Jaime Lyn Beatty (Stranger Sings! The Parody Musical) as Melania, Gabi Garcia as Stormy, and Hannah Bonnett (Legally Blonde National Tour) as Ivanka.

“I am so excited to get to play iconic boss Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton,” says LaBeija in a statement. “As someone who looks up to her, I hope my performance makes her proud, and brings some joy and hope to people, as she has brought joy and hope to me.”

Directed and choreographed by Jen Wineman, the production will feature orchestrations and arrangements by Terence "T" Odonkor, music supervision and arrangements by Lena Gabrielle, scenic design by David Goldstein, costume design by Florence D'Lee, lighting design by Marie Yokoyama, sound design by UptownWorks, and props by Brendan McCann. Visceral Entertainment is general managing and serving as executive producer, and casting is by Michael Cassara Casting.
