Gingold Theatrical Group’s Project Shaw series, which is under the leadership of artistic director David Staller, continues November 21 at 7 PM with J.M. Barrie’s Alice Sit-By-The-Fire at Symphony Space’s Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

For the last few years, GTG has been expanding its programming to include works by writers who most influenced Shaw’s decision to write plays.

According to Staller, “James M. Barrie had such a phenomenal success with his Peter Pan, in which children wrestle with the notion of growing up, he immediately followed it with this charming play about growing up for adults. We’re excited to bring a play back to New York that audiences haven’t seen a production of since 1948! It’s shear theatricality from start to finish and great fun.”

The play, according to press notes, concerns Alice, “who returns from India to England with her husband, and has the problem of re-adapting herself to the home and children she had left behind, along with the burden of the responsibility of adulthood.”

The cast features Martha Plimpton (Alice Grey), Reg Rogers (Colonel Robert Grey), Bobby Steggert (Stephen Rollo), Susannah Perkins (Amy Grey), Eason Rytter (Cosmo Grey), Clemmie Evans (Fanny), Midori Francis (Ginevra Dunbar), Dana Smith Croll (Nurse), and Ava Ulloa (Richardson).

Tickets are $35 and are available by calling (212) 864-5400 or online at www.symphonyspace.org. Special reserved VIP seating is available for $50 by contacting the Gingold office, (212) 355-7823 or [email protected].
