"Sodom & Gomorrah," a new single from the musical concept album Her Sound, Vol. 3—featuring music and lyrics by Ethan Carlson (Waitress)—has been released by Thousand Faced Theatre Company, in association with Ryan Scott Oliver and Very Intense Productions. Recent Diana star Jeanna de Waal performs the song.

Carlson's Her Sound returns to ancient stories of women, reimagining what their stories would have really been. Listen to the single, available on all streaming platforms, below.

“'Sodom & Gomorrah' was one of the first songs Ethan wrote for Her Sound, and when I heard it, the entire show came to life for me," said Oliver. "Empowering this character of Lot’s wife, who is given nothing to say in the Bible and merely tragically described, with a story of sheer fortitude, compassion, and sacrifice is what makes Her Sound an important piece of new musical theatre.”

"Although it's hard to pick a favorite from Her Sound, 'Sodom & Gomorrah' may just be it for me. The poetic lyrics tell a captivating story, and Jeanna's voice perfectly captures the power and emotion the song requires," said Miranda Luze, co-founder of Thousand Faced Theatre.

The single features orchestrations by Solomon Hoffman and music direction by Joshua Zecher-Ross, as well as percussionist Ashley Baier, violinist Felix Herbst, guitarist  Andrew Zinsmeister, and cellist Allison Seidner. Two-time Grammy winner John Kilgore engineered the single, which was mastered by Alan Silverman.

Carlson recently won Taylor Louderman's Write Out Loud Contest. Her Sound, Vol. 1 2 are both available for streaming. The third volume will be released in full later this year.
